Local Woman Seriously Injured after Metal Object Comes Crashing Through Her Windshield [PHOTOS]

A local woman was seriously injured when a metal object came crashing through her car’s windshield, the family told TLS.

The woman was driving with her children on the New Jersey Turnpike in the area of 15 W at around 9:30 AM last Wednesday, January 25, when the metal object came crashing through the driver’s side portion of the windshield, striking her in the neck.

Troopers and emergency personnel – including a member of Catskills Hatzolah passing the area – responded to the scene and treated the woman before transporting her to the hospital. She is in need of procedures and therapy due to the extent of her injuries, her family said.

The family added, “Had it been a couple inches over, she would have Ch’v been killed.”

The family says they believe the item flew off a truck traveling in the opposite direction.

  2. Trucks need to be regulated a lot more than they are. They cause many fatal accidents and are just too big to share the road with cars. Not to mention the material damage they do with things flying off them onto other cars. They should be required to travel between 12 am and 6 am only.

    • Automobile driver’s should be more regulated than truck driver’s. Those driver’s wreak considerably more havoc than truck driver’s. The regulations should take place 24/7/365. Have a wonderful Shabbat.

    • If you had the slightest idea how much of commerce and delivery of essential goods is via trucks, you would realize that your prescription is unworkable. Even if all trucking could be done between midnight and 6AM, it would mean quadrupling the number of trucks running routes and cause gigantic increases in the prices of everything.

One needs to understand a subject well to make dramatic proposals.

  3. Objects on trucks need to be properly secured to help prevent tragedies! About 20 years ago a Lakewood avreich was killed on the NJ turnpike when a ladder fell off a truck.
