Local Resident Injured After Accidental Firearm Discharge

A local resident was injured after the firearm he was handling went off, TLS has learned.

The incident happened just before Shabbos when the resident was handling the licensed pistol, apparently accidently pulling the trigger.

Officials tell TLS the man shot his finger, and suffered a serious injury.

He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

As a result, all firearms in the home were removed, pending investigation.

If you follow the three rules of gun safety this is not possible. He is a danger to himself and others.

1. Always treat every firearm as if it is loaded.
2. Never point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you are ready to fire.

Unless it’s a SIG.

They’re kinda famous for the whole Self Inflicted Gunshot thing. It’s in their name.

But seriously, even with a SIG, roles 1 & 2 save lives and limbs.

You forgot the 4th rule. Know what you are shooting AND what’s behind it.

Wrong, the second is muzzle discipline. The 4th would be target discipline.

There are way more car accidents, should we implement car control?

Right, cars and guns are “totally” the same thing.

They aren’t the same thing, twice as many people die every year in car accidents than killed by guns, and that number includes justified homicides.

Paul was being sarcastic. You didn’t pick up on that?

Nobody should blame anyone. Anything can chas vshalom happen and mistakes happen. No one should judge anyone without facts. And sometimes even with facts. Refua Shlaima and Hashem should give everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year לשנה טובה. כתיבה וחתימה טובה.

Why was the lulav scared? Because it was shaken up.

So a negligent discharge. Not accidental. An AD would mean mechanical failure, so I assume it isn’t a P320

In my 63 years of owning firearms never had a round go off, WHY because I never leave a firearm with a round chambered. Thats just plain stupid.
