  1. No point of listing the pothole township ain’t know how to fill them and they barely even fill them township needs to hire 2 people to just drive through lakewood marking were the potholes are and fix them good with a steam roller not flattening it with little shovels….

  2. Is this a joke?
Every single road in Lakewood has not just pot holes but all sorts of patches, strips, different heights, colors, wide narrow and so on.
Most of this town needs to be repaved

  3. That picture perfectly describes the average streets potholes around town. You don’t need to list your street. They should just drive up and down the town. If the mayor has never done this before he should now bec our roads are quite amusing!!

  4. East 4th Street between Dewey and Clover St. , Sampson Ave., 1st Street between Route 9 and Clifton Ave., Clover Street between Bergen and Ocean Ave.
I can go on and on. Lakewood roads are terrible!!

  5. When filling potholes, pave the entire street. When workers dig in the street for new construction and pipes, they should be required to pave the whole street. All the little fillings cause bumps on the road and then when it rains, they all open up.

  6. South street
    Laurel Ave off clover

There are many streets that need repairs and pot holes filled. All that needs to be done, is have a truck drive around lakewood and they will probably be busy for a few days or weeks.

  7. Where is all our Tax money going?
    The roads are terrible.
    The infrastructure is a joke.
We built so many houses over the last 10 years resulting in lots of property Tax…
I’m not saying it’s not going to good use…
But I think the roads are a priority.

  8. I just want to bring to everyone’s attention that there are many cities that repave roads, every two years, every road. They are proactive about keeping their roads up to date and safe.

    It’s a mindset and a priority.

Writing lists is a short term solution that likely covers up for the much bigger problem- that the roads are majorly neglected. No matter how many pot holes are filled, poles that are changed, lights that are switched or lanes repainted- we are moving at a snails pace while life itself and development in the city is moving at a much faster pace.

Local Tax dollars should mostly be used for roads, libraries, parks, schools and emergency services.

Of this list- I would assume that this city has the highest usage of the roads. I’d love to see that the tax dollars are being used more proportionally to the cities usage. I’d love to see some publicly announced major road planning and with a vision for future needs ( not just current) and for proactive and consistent paving and upkeep of the roads.

I think much bigger picture announcements are needed and in demand.

  9. Lakeview pl. (right next to Eyewear unlimited)
Those potholes will turn into a full on ditch if they aren’t handled soon.
For everyone bellyaching about everything being terrible everywhere, there is a scale to it and not all potholes are created equal.
There are also multiple causes for potholes ranging from poor patchwork done when connecting utilities to salt related among many others.

  10. I think the only street that’s paved nicely is the Lakewood airport runway.
NJ Water company redoing water pipes around Lakewood has caused more flat tires than ever before. They make holes and don’t fill them up.

  11. Kennedy blvd going west right past glatt bite is like driving on a dirt bumpy road and is almost impossible to stop at the traffic light. This is seriously a danger and must be addressed immediately.

  12. Gudz Road in Lakewood NJ that is Between New Central Ave and New Egypt Rd. is so, so, so bad !! This street Kills your shocks and struts and gives your car flat tires ! Where is the $15,000 we pay for Home Owners Taxes going ?

  13. CR 624 between New Hampshire and County Line
Monmouth Ave from 2nd St back through the entire 1st St intersection is broken. I thought they were potholes but I stopped to look and found the road is fractured with a spiderweb of cracks .

  14. The water and construction companies dig up sections of the road, then repave them unevenly, causing large bumps and ditches all over the place.
If they dig up the road they should have to repave the whole stretch evenly.

  15. First of all to all these complainers, did they just move in to lakewood? In the past few years numerous streets and money was spent on repaving the streets its much better than what it was ie forest ave clifton monmouth Princeton 88 county line etc. Second many streets are on schedule to repave for example prospect st and river ave etc they are just waiting to finish up construction. Thanks to lakewood tiwnship and the people of the state and kast but not least the askanim involved.

  16. 7th street from nowland through Clifton, whenever they fill it, the potholes are back the next day. There’s are about 50 potholes between these blocks.

  17. WHITE RD BETWEEN DRAKE AND CROSS ST has a pothole that made my car feel like it EXPLODED when I drove over it. Friend of mine had had to have his Range Rover tire replaced from it as well. Those are $1200 tires! PLEASE FIX ASAP!

Also, whitesville near central ave is horrible, especially the manhole which is in a HUGE dip.

  18. Cedar Ct – the whole street and a huge one when turning from cedar to the 9 I fall in a lot of the time…
    Birch is also bad
And what’s with the man holes popping out causing u to fly on majestic?
    Thank you!
