Light Turnout From Lakewood Voters

votedLakewood voters haven’t yet been coming out in large numbers today, according to some poll station officials. As of 1:00 PM today, one station in the 14th Street area reported approximately 25 voters, and a poll station in the Westgate area reported approximately 50 voters as of 1:00 PM.

The low turnout is largely due to Erev Shavuos. Polls close at 8PM. TLS-MPIP.

  1. The low turnout is sadly due to a general lack of interest from the public who then want to know why things are not getting done the way they want it to. Folks, we have the power to vote and have a voice, it behooves us to do so.

  2. Remember last election? Hershel lost because the seniors were promised lower property taxes and they almost unanimously voted for Bob. Then Honest Bob dropped out of the race!!! He gave the seniors their reassessment and he gave the Blue Claws their 1.2 million lighting.
Everyone should take the 10 minutes–It is no more than 10 minutes–to go out and vote. Vote for whomever you want to but go vote. If you voted on the TLS, go out and vote for real.Don’t complain after the election if you didn’t vote.

  3. Just one time. Let Hershel post one final campaign pitch. You 2 started this whole thing 2 years ago. Finish it together.

  4. I wonder who scheduled election days. Can’t we have an opinion about when the elections should be held? I live in lakewood for over 10 years and never missed an election. Being that these primaries were held on erev shavuous, it was very tough for me to get out.

  5. Why is there even an election at this time-period? A few weeks back we had school board elections – why not have these at the same time? Why obligate the public to come out twice – and why double the costs? (Better yet – why not have school board elections in November when there’s a general election anyway?)
