LFD & Forest Fire Units Extinguish Brush Fire At Ocean County Park

VIDEO: Forest Fire Units and the Lakewood Fire Department this afternoon extinguished a quick moving brush fire before it got out of control. A passing police officer came across the flames and a thick cloud of smoke alongside the Ocean County Park on New Hampshire Avenue, and phoned it into police.

Forest Fire Units and the Lakewood Fire Department responded and doused the flames.

Over the past few weeks, fire departments around the Tri-state area have been battling brush fires, some which have consumed hundreds of acres. The high and dry temperatures have prompted officials to issue state-wide warnings.
