A true loss to klal yisroel.
any hook ups for levaya?
So sorry to hear this news. Mrs. Sturman was a wonderful and caring teacher to my girls at Torah Academy in Philadelphia. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for each girl she taught. We all admired her as a wonderful example of a Torah true Jewish woman. May HaShem comfort the family. BDE
Her husband Rav Shimon zt”l was the 9th grade Rebbi in the Philadelphia yeshiva
There was NO teacher like her. Everyone loved Mrs. Sturman and no doubt some of the best memories of high school are of her classes and the songs she taught to bring the pesukim of Navi alive. I’m sure everyone who was zocha to have her as a teacher feels the same. I will always picture her with a smile on her face and will never forget her laugh. She will be sorely missed by all who were privileged to know her.
Where are they sitting?
This is so shocking and so sad. Rebbetzin Sturman was a living example of how to live despite the challenges that life brings. When I think of her I picture her smile and warmth. She was very caring and when she asked you how you were – she really wanted to know.
She and Reb Shimon zt”l were one of the core couples of Philly Yeshiva. It was always said that Reb Shimon was the perfect 9th grade Rebbe. They both were mechanchim par excellance. They knew how to approach a student – whether he/she did not need special guidance or did need extra attention. They both knew how to make their relationships feel special and personal. Reb Shimon and Rebbetzin Sturman were gems. To have known them was a zechus. We continue to miss Reb Shimon and we will miss Rebbetzin Sturman very much.
Oish. What a Tzadeikes. One of her daughters live on my block. I would see her very often , Yom Tov, time. It was clear she was an Isha Choshuve M’oid. BDE.
I was zoche to be close to Reb shimon zatzal. I am in my 40’s and have yet to me another person like him. It’s not something one can explain or describe. The rebbetzen carried on the legacy caring for all the former talmidim. I will forever miss them both.
With such amazing children, she was no doubt and amazing mother. May all her children have a Nechama.
refined person…. and passed on to the fined family…… Gem of a woman she will be missed……
