Dear Mayor Reina, I had emailed you during this past election season about your lame response to the Pittsburgh massacre,
while at the same time you counter-attacked your political opponent for having ties to the Orthodox in Lakewood!
You did not seem it necessary to answer my email.
Six months later, we’re once again faced with a horrible synagogue shooting by an “otherwise normal” white supremacist teen, and a rise in antisemitism locally to unprecedented levels.
Your response? Once again a vague rebuke against RACISM!!!
Are you not seeing the signs on the wall (!) or are you siding with the ANTISEMITES in town?
Not calling the disease by its name, or not naming the JEWS as the target, speaks volumes about your commitment to the protection of our community.
Regardless of what is being done behind the scenes – and I surely hope you won’t rest until you bring these hooligans to justice – the message it gives is not just offensive but downright reckless!

Stop complaining and go purchase some firearms two for the house and one for the office . They are going to come , its only a question of when. I may be in the minority, but I do not feel that government officials, including mayors, are obligated to response and condemn every racist incident that occurs. It would a nice gesture, but gestures are not obligatory.
I agree with Frum Lakewood resident. Its a nice gesture but doesnt do a thing to stop the hate or change anything. unless the police have a machine that reads minds and knows whats in a persons heart and can protect us at all times, there will always be a chance that someone is looking to hurt people. We are better off doing mitzvos and a kiddush Hashem whenever possible and davening for Hashems protection for us and our loved ones.
