Hi Everyone: Words cannot describe my feelings of appreciation to all the anonymous people worldwide . My Aunt Maya is now on her way safely to the US.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who made this happen:
The Syrian Jewish Community of Brooklyn who helped fund her evacuation out of Ukraine and especially Margaret who made sure that my aunt was very well taken care of at the border. (Thanks Margaret)
Also Hatzalah Israel, Ayala and all the wonderful volunteers who set her up with food, shelter and transportation to Warsaw while arrangements were made for her travel out of Poland. I also would like to acknowledge The Jewish Federation of Rochester, New York who graciously funded her airfare to Mexico where she is now.
I also want to thank the Lakewood Scoop for helping us get the word out. Yaakov Fleischer of Luxury Class Tours and Rabbi Leizer and Chani Labkovksi Williamsville, NY and David B of The Regesh Network for putting this all together. And Tatanya M and Svetlana B for taking care of my aunt in Mexico.
My aunt is now about to embark on a new life here in America. She literally is coming with the clothes on her back and a small backpack, leaving everything she owned behind.
If anyone could still help, even a small amount, we’d like to get her set up with housing , clothing , Passover food and of course medical care.
May you all have a blessed Passover.
Julie
BTW
Bchasdei HaShem she arrived in the US safely and is reunited with her sister
Don’t understand with the 25 million that agudah raised for the Ukrainian yidden, why can’t they help out? (I’m assuming they didn’t based on the fact that they were not mentioned in the thanks) Julie did you reach out? Is their any oversight on where this money is going?
