Dear Editor: The holiday season is upon us once more and on behalf of the entire Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, we would like to wish your readers a safe, happy and peaceful Hanukkah.
The Festival of Lights is a time for family and celebration. Gathering for the traditional lighting of the Menorah is a ceremony steeped with tradition that honors the tremendous and unwavering faith of the Jewish people.
During this season of celebration, we ask that everyone also remember the needy and less fortunate among us.
Many Ocean County families are still struggling through difficult economic times. If you can, please contribute to one of the many food and toy drives now under way that will help ensure everyone enjoys a happy holiday season.
May the season bring you joy, love and peace.
Joseph H. Vicari,
Ocean County Freeholder Director
