Dear Editor, I wanted to bring to everyone’s attention that Evenflo makes an easy to use car seat alarm to prevent a child being left in the car.
We have been using it in our cars and it works perfectly every time. It does not require any extra steps when buckling the child or when starting the car. It only rings when the car is turned off and there is a child in the car seat. It does not require batteries or charging. It consists of a chest chest buckle with an integrated sensor, as well as a receiver that plugs into the diagnostic port under the dashboard.
Evenflo only sells the system included with certain car seats and will not sell it as a standalone product. However, we were able to purchase the system by buying the replacement parts for the clips that make the device work and you can attach it yourself to any car seat, including infant or toddler seats.

There is also a great system by cleverelly.com which is a small USB charger which plugs into your car’s cigarette lighter (like any USB charger you already use). When the car is turned off, the power flow to the device is automatically cutoff and the device chimes a reminder to check the back for a car seat. It is also inexpensive and worth a try.

The advantage of the Evenflo system is that it only alerts you when there is a child in the car seat, if it alerts you every time you get out of the car you stop paying attention.

The Evenflo system only works on cars 2008 and newer. As stated in the user manual.
and, for free, you can take off your shoe and leave it next to the car seat. getting out of the car you will immediately without a shoe will be the reminder
There is actually a Sensorsafe 2.0 version that is coupled to an app! Not only does it ring a tune in the car when you stop and the child is buckled in the car seat, but it also sends you and family members additional notifications such as if the child unbuckles herself, or if the car temperature is too hot or too cold.
Evenflo doesn’t sell them as a replacement part yet but there are a few available on Ebay under their sister company Cybex Sensor Safe Receiver ($20) and Cybex Sensor Safe Chest Clip ($20). Up to 8 clips on car seats can be registered to one account but you obviously need one receiver per car. (I’m not sure if there exists different size clips for infant car seats and rear facing ones.)
The advantage of this system over other reminder apps is that you don’t learn to ignore the reminders with time. However free apps also have their merit.

hi i got the cybex reciever but the alarm is not working can it be that i need to get cybex clips bec right now i have evenflo clips
