I was horrified to discover a board game being sold on Amazon, called “Secret Hitler”. The game involves there being two teams, fascists and liberals. One of the fascists is the “secret Hitler”, and together they try to overtake Germany and the world. The liberals have the job of finding and stopping “Hitler” before it’s too late.

I was, understandably, horrified by the mere existence of such a game. I was equally horrified that such a game is being sold by Amazon in the U.S.! I tried reaching out to them to express my disgust, but a few months later, it’s still on sale. I take great offense by this! “Hitler” isn’t a game! Hitler killed millions of our brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers, grandparents and children! Hitler and the fascists caused tremendous suffering and – yes – HELL to even those who managed בחסדי ה’ to survive. My grandparents were tortured, killed, buried alive, and burnt to death by these monsters. Hitler isn’t a game…
There has to be an outcry… We need Amazon to be faced up to this. They cannot just go on selling such an insidious game.

To Lkwder: Even if this doesn’t effect ones daily life, once such a gave is played it desensitizes the whole idea and what it portrays. In addition, this will be taken personally because it was personal years ago. We can’t forget that.
I think we are seeing what can happen with time. While most of us grew up with The War as very real and horrifying, now it’s receding into the background as history. Even unfortunately, I believe, with our own children. So while it’s scary how anti semitism is on the rise, I don’t know if all such occurrences are anti semitic or just, as a previous poster mentioned, a desensitization which is happening with the passing of time. Hard to believe that this can really be happening.
