In certain neighborhoods/developments the children believe that the cars are driving on their play areas.
Then it becomes incumbent on the parents to teach road safety to their children.
Because they are, this is the only place for kids to play
They should play in doors. The street is for cars. If you live in such a development, it’s why you pay less than to live on a big open street. Feel free to move back onto forest ave or 46st. in boro park. There’s also plenty of availability in flatbush as well.
Thank you to the caring mail carrier who sent this in. Zero judgment, criticism, generalizing groups, etc. Just a caring heart, concern for basic safety, and a positive call to action. Safety reminders are always appreciated by parents, especially when we don’t feel judged.
What a beautiful comment
A beautiful comment but sad we need him/her to remind us.
Thank you so much for your comment
Hope to have a safe summer
I live in chestnut ridge NY and we have the same problem of people not telling their kids that the street is not a playground. Instead, in my neighborhood some “askonim” got the authorities to agree to put up stop signs and speed bumps, which doesn’t do much to mitigate the danger in light of the children’s attitude.
