Search engine marketing is the act of marketing a website to improve its performance and to get noticed in the search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, or MSN.

Two Major Components of Search Engine Marketing

There are two primary forms of SEM:

  • Paid search marketing – PPC (pay per click) or PPA (pay per action) where ads are placed by the search engine through that engine’s search marketing programs (such as AdWords, in the case of Google, for example) and advertisers pay only when a searcher clicks on a displayed ad (PPC) or clicks on an ad and takes a specific action, such as signing up on a website or purchasing a product (PPA).

  • SEO (search engine optimization) where techniques are employed in the hopes of improving a website’s search rankings in the natural, or unpaid search results.

SEM is a fairly new, but rapidly growing field. Search engine marketing can be a lucrative career or a profitable home business due to rapidly rising demand for SEM services and a limited, experienced SEM labor pool that employers can use to meet their needs.

Many people who use the term “search engine marketing” or SEM, refer to paid search marketing techniques only and SEO for organic techniques only. In reality, search engine marketing, or SEM, refers to both.

Search engine marketing is one component of Internet marketing.

Also Known As: SEM, search marketing, paid search

Example:

B&H Photo uses a variety of search engine marketing techniques that resulted in their website frequently being listed on the first page of Google search results, both for paid search listing and for organic search listings.

Search engine marketing may seem easy.  You sign up for a Google Adwords account, give Google your credit card info and bam! You’ve started your online marketing campaign.  Create some keywords, write some ads and before you know it you’re getting clicks and converting traffic….  But….Now what?

Are you…

  • ·Reaching the potential of your target market?
  • · Accurately targeting your audience by creating the right kw-bid-adtext-landing page relationship?
  • ·Driving all keywords towards conversion efficiency targets?
  • ·Creating high quality score keywords that drive down cost?
  • · Analyzing your performance data to locate opportunity and more efficiently control cost?
  • Working without a sensible budget?

If you are unable to answer some of these questions, then you have only scratched the surface of potential opportunity that search engine marketing has to offer.

Our 10 session course is designed to teach you the skills you need to have to make search engine marketing a successful, sustainable revenue stream.

 You will  learn how to:

  • Use all of the functionality of Google Adwords online interface and Adwords editor.

  1. ********** Is this you? What does cost have to do with to`eles? Would it not be leto`eles harabim to mention a terrific real estate investment that could cost a million dollars? Or, is Leto`eles only when one is offering their services for free.

  2. Take it easy, it seems to be pretty expensive for such a course but I do agree that for someone who has that kind of money it may be a toeles. One question I have is, this E Source- is it a business or a public service?

  3. Why should I mind if someone makes money. But the truth of the matter is that it should be mentioned that it’s a private business. Anyway just keep the info coming.

  4. I attended the pay-per-click class last night & I must say it was great/professional/customizable/customer oriented. I hope that they can be matzlieach as lots of people need parnasah. I was truly impressed.

On the political note I’d recommend that TLS should have a banner indicating that it’s an infomercial. It can be a good source of revenue for TLS. Hey maybe the instructor can help you with conversions :). The last sentence will only make sense for attendees.
