[Schedule] Where does a Ben Torah go to put structure and dignity into his day while trying to enter or re-enter the workplace? The answer for many, is the Learn & Network Kollel. The Kollel is now in its second Zman after its successful launch by founder Duvy Honig, last year.
“We wanted to provide a way for people to feel a sense of accomplishment while they are looking for work, by learning, Shmoozing, and real world career strategies and guidance”, says Honig.
Located in the temporary Chavrei Kollell Beis Medrash at 1193 West County Line Road, Learn and Network has a Learning Seder from 5 to 7 pm Sunday through Thursday with Chavrusas and top level guest speakers, many whom have been appeared on TLS. (On May 31st, the group will hear from Attorney Abe Penzer, with food sponsored by Glatt Bite)
A wide array of Talmidei Chocomim have already praised and participated in the efforts of the Learn and Network Kollel, which now has branches in the Five towns, Flatbush, Monsey and Lakewood (where it originated).
So if you or someone you know can benefit from a business and Learning environment, stop into Learn & Network. TLS-PR.
I dont understand, do they learn torah or is it a business education class?
“Where does a Ben Torah go to put STRUCTURE and dignity into his day while trying to enter or re-enter the workplace?”
“Located in the TEMPORARY Chavrei …”
Where is their temporary structure? Do you know if they are moving back to the old-new structure on Somerset??
go simcha! we love you!
Its a great thing with a great guy running it.
I passed 1193 West County Line Road. I did not see the above pictured structure standing there. Is there another entrance to the structure?
This article is signed off by TLS-PR.
Is that Pinchos R. from the 88 near the old structure of chavrei?
Thank you lakewood scoop for sharing such wonderful news that truly helps the whole community
Is this a program of chavrei hakolel? Or is this Duvi Honigs Program?
TO #1. are you three years old that you don’t understand you can do both? shevet Zevulun did both Learning and Business. One thing I will grant you, they should not call it Kollel. The name is very misleading. It’s not a Kollel. it’s a bais medrash program. Kollel means learning all day and night. Mashgiach Harav Solomon also feels the same.
is this just “pump”?
How many people participate? Real numbers please.
Mr get with it I learn there and its a solid kollel with only once a week after seder networking event, come by and hear todays divrei chizuk from R Aaron Berl at 6.30 iyh
to #8. Good for you. I repeat, The Mashgiach R’ Mottisyahu Solomon Shlita said publically that he wouldn’t call it a Kollel. It is a fine thing that you are learning there but to call 1-2 hours a day Kollel is diluting the term Kollel, Kollel means all day and night learning. If yo want the crown you have to do the work. If I go to a Daf yomi shiur am I also considered in Kollel?? (Daf yomi is also a fine thing)
to #9: Where does this insane elitism come from? Why does everything have to be condescending? Just acknowledging that “it’s a fine program” doesn’t give you the right to sarcastically degrade a very productive program. What have you done for the community? Educating the masses about the specific definitions of kollel doesn’t count.
Who cares if it is a kollel or not?
The main thing is that guys learn.
Call it what ever you want. If it gets people to learn better then so be it
To #5:
I actually asked R’ Duvi H. that exact question.
His answer was:
It’s NOT part of Chavrei Hakollel. We only use their building.
To #12 didn’t there building collapse? How are you using it isn’t it unsafe?
Hey 13… The bUildiNg did not collapse!!!!! ONly part was damaged in a freek-accident (I think)
but – either way it propbly is unsafe.
