The board of trustees of the Lakewood Development Corporation (LDC) has awarded two microloans to UEZ businesses. Curves, a fitness facility for women at 1200 River Avenue, Suite 7B, will use its microloan to hire additional employees; increase its working capital; and expand advertising, hours of operation, and programming.
The second microloan was awarded to Miron Trucking & Delivery, 155 Oberlin Avenue, the Lakewood Industrial Park. Miron was established in 2008 to service local Lakewood businesses with their trucking and delivery needs as well as in-home delivery. Miron will use its microloan for two major areas of expansion. It will enlarge its delivery area so that more trucks can be on the road and provide clients with public warehousing so that vendors can store their merchandise.
Abraham Muller, the chairman of the Lakewood Development Corporation, says, “The mission of the LDC is to increase business and business opportunities for Lakewood. These microloans, which focus on small business needs, can provide just the boost a small business needs to make it more successful.”
Patricia Komsa, director of the UEZ for Lakewood, reports that the Microloan Program is still accepting applications for small-business loans up to $35,000 at a 3 ½ percent interest rate. Microloans are funds that can be used for working capital, supplies and machinery, the purchase of inventory, and to refurbish existing facilities. Microloans are also available for businesses seeking to establish, expand, or redevelop their companies. Both of these programs are available to Lakewood UEZ-certified businesses.
If a business is not UEZ certified or for further questions, call Yehuda Abraham, director of business development, in the Lakewood UEZ office at 732-364-2500 Ext. 5217. Businesses interested in applying for a Microloan should contact the Lakewood Development Corporation at 732-363-2500 Ext. 5257 or visit twp.lakewood.nj.us for more information. Interested parties can always visit the UEZ office, Room 12 of the Lakewood Municipal, 231 Third Street, Lakewood, for more information.

Small businesses are the engines that drive this country. Hopefully each new successful business here in Lakewood will bring jobs, and by extension parnassah to many people.
#2, it’s not just for Frum business like you seem to beleive.
#3, Please read my words carefully before commenting. I noted that new jobs will come to Lakewood and never specified Jews or Non-Jews. The word parnassah is simply Hebrew for Livelihood.
With that said, since you were obviously offended, I offer my sincerest apologies. I truly meant no harm or disrespect to you or anyone else.
