LCSW tracks down vehicle thief in Lakewood

A car thief was taken into custody Sunday evening, thanks to LCSW.

A resident who parked her vehicle near YTT returned outside to find her vehicle stolen, an LCSW coordinator says.

After receiving a description of the vehicle, members canvassed the area and beyond, and a short time later spotted the vehicle.

Police were called and the vehicle stopped at the intersection of Cedarbridge Avenue and Hurley Avenue. The suspect then fled on foot, the coordinator said.

Police gave chase, and the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody.

The coordinator tells TLS it appears the woman left her keys in the vehicle.

  1. Why would someone leave keys in their vehicle? In this day and age it is nothing short of irresponsible, an invitation to children to steal a car.

    • Many reasons: it’s fun to joy ride, it’s dangerous, on a dare, to get a car, because you are young and bored, because you are young and stupid. I’m not saying they are good reasons. Not all of his Children respect the Commandments. We need to remove temptation when we can.

  2. I was there to witness it all LCSW was amazing at work and truly a blessing that we have in lakewood ! Keep up the good work !!!
