LCSW Steps Up Patrols Following Rash Of Burglaries

lcsw car logo tlsLCSW requested that TLS publish the following: Due to the recent rash of burglaries, LCSW has stepped up overnight patrols throughout Lakewood. LCSW asks that residents leave their back porch lights on throughout the night as it is very difficult to see properly in some developments (Brookhill, Sterling Forest). This will help with lighting up the area for our members, as well as to deter any burglar.
 
Last night on 2 separate occasions, residents witnessed a vehicle driving by very slowly without headlights on. They just looked at the vehicle and walked inside their house, without thinking twice that it may be a suspicious vehicle. Luckily it was just our member doing his patrol and not someone up to no good. If you see something, say something. Don’t hesitate to call Lakewood PD and LCSW should you witness something suspicious.
 
LCSW is also looking for residents to help out with nightly patrol shifts. If you are able to lend a hand with this big Mitzvah, please call our hotline at 732-367-1212.

  1. there are 2 kinds of people who blog on TLS: the kvetchers and the people who actually do something about it. Everyone kvetches about crime in Lakewood. Thank you Shomrim for getting behind the wheels and doing something about it! How much time does a member need to contribute each week? What else is involved?

  7. I called the lcsw a few days ago early morning and there was NO DISPATCHER!! it just rang and rang untill i reached a voicemail with a recording it was reached in error and I should call 7323671212…

  8. It is ILLEGAL to drive without headlights on. The laws apply to LCSW just as well. Not sure why you’re boasting that your member broke the law.

  11. It makes me ill how so many could be down on LCSW. They are doing you a FREE Chesed for goodness sakes. You want more crime, keep bashing them. They take nothing for their work and they are up when you are fast asleep, just driving around and responding to calls. Say Thank you or say nothing at all. And about the headlights, get a life.

  14. why do i get the feeling that the cops in lakewood have something against LCSW? Shouldn’t they be working on the same team, with LCSW supplementing them as eyes and ears? Why the nitty gritty?

    because certain people over-step their boundaries and assume responsibilities that are not theirs. Some people assume themselves to be above that of the law. driving around without headlights is a dangerous thing to do at night. IF THIS PERSON RAN OVER YOUR CHILD, (due to not seeing your child, or your child running into the street not seeing the car coming) WOULD YOU STILL BE THIS SUPPORTIVE OF LAW BREAKERS?
    YOU CANT BREAK A LAW, TO FIND SOMEONE BREAKING A DIFFERENT LAW. 2 WRONGS DONT MAKE A RIGHT.

  16. what ppl r 4gettin is that these ppl that r commettin these crimes r criminals DUH how do u kno if they have a gun or not ???? I’m all 4 the “Jewish Police” as i call them, because of a few reasons, most being that they r faster 2 respond 2 an accident or a problem, but they should at least b trained 2 b on OUR streets. Lets not 4get about 317 n he was trained, I’m just sayin rather b safe then sorry. These “kids” that r on the streets these days r no joke.

  17. In that you’re right, 15. They should be trained the same way there are volunteer firefighters and Hatzolah. 8,9,10 you make the LPD sound bad. Stop picking on ridiculous things and “worrying” about them and help them get training. Show the world that you care about the people of lakewood and fighting crime and not…. your pride?

  18. What’s amazing to me in this town is, when you see a story like this where people are helping one another, regardless of race & religion, with only altruistic motives, the amount of criticism leveled toward them by those that won’t lift a finger to assist another….just amazing.
