Yaakov Yosef Greenwald, the last Bachur to be released from a Japan prison following an alleged drug smuggling charge, will be released from the Israeli prison in four weeks, ending a long and painful saga, sources say. The other two boys were already released.
Grunwald was released from the Japanese prison in September.
Greenwald spent nearly four years in the Japan prison. TLS/NB.
Does anyone know how these boys are doing today ?
the youngest of the 3 boys was transferred to Israeli prison a while ago and released soon after. The oldest of the 3 boys won the court case in Japan and then was released. He just got engaged a few weeks ago. this boy Yaakov Yosef ben Raizel Hashem should release soon
when will we finally release ourselves from the prison cell of galus in america & head towards eretz yisroel? how much worse does the situation need to get C”V for us to see the yad hashem & realize that its time we left the USA.
if we leave now then Hashem will not need to make things worse for Klal yisroel, so we can see the yad Hashem.
we all need to do our Hishtadlus. if we want mashiach to come & have a end to tzaros in klal yisroel, then we FIRST need to do our part for Hashem, which is 2 main things 1)moving to eretz yisroel:showing hashem that we are ready for mashiach 2)YEARNING for the geula & mashiach: anyone could daven, but if a person wants something from Hashem (be it a child, refua or shidduch etc….) s/he needs to do more then just daven s/he needs to YEARN for it from their heart. when we start to YEARN for Hashem & mashiach, then Hashem will send mashiach. As we say in Ashrei Karov Hashem….. Hashem is close to all who call to him, to those who call out with truth i.e. sincerity, kavana & feeling for what their davening for.
Here is the federal standard concerning “knowledge” of contraband:
In United States v. Murrieta-Bejarano (1997) the Ninth Circuit interpreted that “knowing” includes a “conscious purpose to avoid learning the truth.” I do not know the Japanese standard, but Judge (now Justice) Anthony Kennedy’s dissent got it right and is routinely cited in the cases. Knowing is not “willful blindness,” as the majority decided. Knowing means that a “person is aware of a high probability of its existence, unless he actually believes that it does not exist.” It is not enough to be suspicious.
your headline says he was released from an Israeli prison not a Japanese prison. It needs to be corrected.
boruch hashem!
