PHOTOS: A large brush fir burning in Staten Island is causing heavy traffic delays. The West Shore Expressway and 440 are heavily backed up in both directions as thick smoke is severely affecting the driving conditions.
The fire reportedly started from mulch in an area landfill and quickly spread prompting a massive response from the FDNY.
Check traffic reports if you plan on traveling to or from Brooklyn.

I hope the Police and Fire Department of the Lakewood Township are on the alert that the Tent City inhabitants do not build fires tonight at their illegal encampment. They could cause mass destruction in the town.
