I would like to bring an awareness to an aspect of the storm that has not been sufficiently addressed thus far. Driving around town these past few days has been treacherous, but also a beautiful experience. At each block and every turn, there were neighbors and friends assisting those in need. We all know how helpful our organizations have been, but I would like to credit our community as a whole. When someone got stuck on a patch of snow while backing out of his driveway, within a minute, there gathered a group of men- some walking to their destinations, some driving to take care of errands- all with something to do at that moment, yet without a second thought, they dropped everything to help someone in need. How special it was to see one woman offer her hand to another woman while walking across ice. How precious it was to notice that drivers were so patient and helpful when other drivers were having difficulty veering their cars through the snow. While so many people were clocking how long it took for a plow to get to their streets, I opened my eyes to the beauty of being surrounded by so many caring individuals. And so I extend my thanks to the departments and organizations who have worked so tirelessly throughout this ordeal, and my thanks is also extended to neighbors, friends and relatives- who make up our beautiful community.
Your neighbor.

why did you use a picture of an Israely car?
As I was leaving my office , I walked toward my car to notice that it was completely covered in snow . I made a feeble attempt to clean it , when a nice young man with tools in hand , offered to help. He told me, ” Just stay warm in your car & I’ll take care of everything”. when I offered to pay him , he just said H-ashem sent u a frum goy, don’t worry about it ,just have me in mind in your prayers. To mr anonymous: THANK YOU! Thank you! and yes I had you in mind.

Lakewood chesed is unmatched………….
the chesed is from the people not the orgs. The orgs just put the people in an organized fashion but the true Chesed is within the individuals who make up the tzibbur.
