Lakewood’s acting Municipal Manager, and former Deputy Municipal Manager Steven Reinman, will be resigning, TLS has learned.
Reinman, who serves as the Director of Economic Development and Industrial Commission, assumed the interim position approximately 15 months ago upon the request of the Mayor and Committee to fill the place of the previous Manager until a new one could be found.
The Manager says he decided to resign to fully focus on the economic development activity in Lakewood and continue to work to grow the economic base.
His resignation will be effective tomorrow, sources say.

Ut a brucha. Hope you get some relief!
This is the biggest loss to Lakewood. Steve has been by far the most business-minded and effective manager in a long time. He has looked at the long term rather than only today and tried planning with utilities and other agencies to be prepared for Lakewood’s growth. It’s a shame that the Township committee members apparently did not all agree to make him the permanent manager.
we need more talented people like Steve working for the township.
What a shame he was the best manager lakewood had for decades it will not take long untill the comitee regrets it .
Real mench. Straight. And focused. Loss for the town. Sorry for all of us. He plays a very strong role without fanfare. Steve realy understands what he’s doing. Loss
Foolish people to lose such a talented and honest person.
Sorry to see him leave. He has been a very effective Township Manager. Best wishes for continued success.
What a SHANDER TO ALL THODE THUMBS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
