As a growing number of people are settling in Lakewood post full-time learning, they still want to be Kove’ah Ittim L’Torah everyday. Due to personal schedules, learning preferences & limited network, it’s become very difficult for many to find a chavrusah to fit one’s specific situation.
Finally, there’s an address to turn to: The Chavrusah Connection. “By creating a central network of available chavrusahs that encompasses all of Lakewood & filtering them by optimal learning time, location & choice of Limud, we have access to many options that are not available to the individual,” says R’ Dovid Doppelt, founder of The Chavrusah Connection.
Since its inception in Elul of this year, the Chavrusah Connection has already helped dozens of people find chavrusahs.
“It was actually my wife who reached out & gave The Connection my contact info,” one satisfied Lomed recalls. “She’d seen it on a JBlast email & jumped at the opportunity. Within minutes, a Connection representative was calling. I gave him the information he needed, & he informed me that there was just someone who fit a similar location & timeframe that had reached out the night before. After some arranging we were set up for our trial- & haven’t stopped since.”
5 weeks later, the pair is still hard at work- now spiritually as well.
“Thinking back to my Yeshiva days, I really cannot remember having such a good Chavrusah- I’m extremely extremely grateful to the Chavrusah Connection.”
The process of joining the network is simple: a person contacts the Chavrusah Connection by either calling or texting (732) 757-2899 or emailing [email protected]. What follows is a short interview where your basic information is recorded & you join the database. The database is then scanned for potential chavrusahs that fit his criteria. If none exist at that time, the name enters the database to await a viable option.
One unique aspect of the process is the trial period. Each chavrusah goes in with the understanding that there’s no initial committment, and any one can back out of the trial.
The Chavrusah Connection is more than just a network connecting Chavrusahs- it’s a movement to return Torah to the B’nei Torah to whom it rightfully belongs.
