Lakewood Voters Could See Shorter Lines on Election Day Thanks to Four New Precincts and Heavy Early Voting

Lakewood voters heading to the polls on Election Day can expect shorter lines than in recent years in some of the more crowded precincts, with the addition of four new polling precincts added around town to better accommodate the township’s growing population and its 65,000 registered voters.

The new sites were introduced to ease crowding at some of Lakewood’s largest polling locations, meaning that many longtime voters will now be assigned to different polling places. Residents are urged to check their sample ballot or the state’s voter search tool to confirm their correct polling location before heading out to vote.

Combined with the new precincts and the strong early voting turnout, voters can hopefully expect shorter lines and smoother traffic at most sites on Tuesday.

However, if a voter arrives at the wrong location on Election Day, they should not leave without voting, they can request a provisional ballot to ensure their vote is counted once eligibility is confirmed.

Polls in New Jersey will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4.
