Q: Good afternoon. Was just wondering what it would take for Lakewood to get our own fully functional DMV as we are one of the biggest townships in New Jersey and have to travel about a half an hour to get anything done?
Thank you.
A: Mayor Ray Coles: The state would have to allow the individual offices to go back to full service locations like they were in the past. We are asking them to look into making the change.
Always check to see if you can do something online and avoid the trip all together. I was able to renew my Real ID license on line last year and have done the registrations for my personal and work vehicles online for years.
Take care,
Ray

Welcome to Lakewood everything will shut down or businesses will close their door. This township has serious issues and you want to know why your insurance policy is soaring This township Government is bad and they don’t seem to take our township seriously. Our Safety and Security are broken. Our street lights, Sewer drainage, and roadway are a disaster. Our parking on the street without a parking garage is very dangerous. We cannot allow this Lousy Government to continue to operate this township. We need to rebel and file a complaint against the Lakewood Township Government which is lacking our Safety and Security and a Healthy environment.
Not happy with the way the government of we the people is operating? Perhaps we need to look in the mirror to see the root of the problem.
This town seems very safe to me,The lights work perfectly fine, and what’s wrong with parking on the street. I haven’t seen any sewage problem and they’re working on practically every road I drive down. This town is amazing with great leaders.
Well, Stop complaining. Are you the majority or minority in Lakewood? Is this the reason you think nothing is wrong in Lakewood. What roads do you ride on? The one in your community. Because Lakewood roads are the worst. Almost everywhere you turn. Bumps, potholes, cracks and dips. Where you out these last few days? Did you see the flooded roads. Route 9 and prospect, certain areas of Cedar Bridge, South Clover, etc.
Amazing, great leaders! As long as they are catering to certain groups of people. They don’t care about no one else. They don’t know the word “no”(even though it’s used in the Bible). Lakewood is over crowded. Over developed and the cause of carbon emissions. No Lakewood doesn’t need a full time DMV. The residents need to drive out of town for service. The poor and seniors have to drive out of town to go food shopping.
Takes a 1/2 hour just to get across town. Roads are full of potholes. People drive anyway they want due to lack of enforcement. Homeless sleeping and wondering aimlessly. But the town is just fine! hahah
I Am Alice Tomlin. I had my car check and Was told that all was OK. That was October 2024. In April 2024 I was told that I had to stay off the road or pay fines. I have not had my car since.
