Lakewood Shuttle to again begin charging $1 for one-way trips

The Lakewood Shuttle Bus will once again begin charging $1 per way, the Township announced.

The bus originally charged $1, but dropped the fee when it was taken over by DPW approximately one year ago.

The change will go into effect October 1st.

  1. If routes would be clear and convenient, my teens and young adults would use it frequently instead of spending $10-15 on taxis when I can’t drive them. How about some accurately scheduled routes with easy transfers. Save money, reduce hitching, increase mobility and safety.
    Examples for starters:
    route 9 (or equivalent ) – from Walmart intersection to rt 88
    Route 9 – central to route 70
    Central, from route 9 to westgate
    7th street- from forest through Ridge to county line
    New Hampshire from Ridge to oak or Chestnut (or Belz)
    This is a CITY! we need REAL city bus service!
