The Lakewood Board of Education, in partnership with CHEMED, is offering a COVID-19 vaccine for all children ages 12 and older, becoming the first school district in New Jersey to offer the vaccine to this age group.
As of Thursday, May 13th, the age at which one can receive a COVID-19 vaccine in New Jersey was lowered to 12 years old, after clinical studies showed that the vaccine is 100% effective in this population and is well tolerated by the body, with almost no side effects having been observed.
All Lakewood students age 12 and older, from both public and private schools, are eligible to receive the vaccine, which will be administered on Sunday, May 23rd between 9 AM and 1 PM, on Tuesday, May 25th between 3 PM and 7 PM, and Wednesday, May 26th between 3 PM and 7 PM, at CHEMED’s vaccination site located at the Woodlake Country Club, 25 New Hampshire Avenue in Lakewood.
The CDC recommends that everyone 12 and older should receive the vaccine to protect against COVID-19, and because widespread vaccination is a critical tool to help stop the pandemic once and for all.

Oy Vey! The frum children are being used as guinea pigs. How sad that we have to be in the lead with this. Please, Please everyone ask a real Rov before subjecting your healthy child. benefit vs. risk is a halachic shaila and since there is such minimal risk to a child who contracts covid this Must be brought before a Rov before going ahead with it.
We need to daven that this gezeirah ends. People are really blind and dont understand the dangers of this vaccine especially for children. Hashem Yerachem. When people try to speak out, they are called anti-vaxxers even though they vaccinated their kids with all the other vaccines to date….
