The following is a letter from the Lakewood Roshei Yeshivah regarding the upcoming Primary Elections:
English Translation:
We would like to express our support for The Lakewood Vaad, which does great work on many issues. As community representatives, The Vaad forges important relationships with candidates for elected office, and makes endorsements according to the needs of the entire community.
We therefore turn to members of our Torah community and strongly request that every registered voter should turn out and vote in the upcoming Primary election. This season more than ever, it is crucial that everyone votes only for candidates endorsed by The Vaad. There are various candidates, and the community stands to benefit only from the endorsed candidates.
The Vaad has been at work for many years, and their focus is always upon the benefit of the community. Let us strengthen their hand to raise the stature of Torah and the honor of Heaven.
If you live in Lakewood you need to be machshiv Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva and at the very least dialogue with Them
Not just when some of them suit your needs
And not from your websites or emails
Don’t like it -move to Jackson
The Lakewood Roshei Yeshiva are the Einei Haeidah. They see things that we cannot see. They know what’s best for every one of us. We must listen to them, even if we cannot understand everything now, Eliyahu Hanavi will explain it to us when Moshiach comes.
There is a group of people who have put up other candidates whose goal is to undermine the Roshei Yeshiva and what they stand for. If we are apathetic and dontt vote then we will get the anti Yeshiva people.
We want candidates that are for everyone not just for Jewish people
The younger crowd and people living outside of the “old lakewood” have no representation on the Vaad.
These candidates are for everyone. They are just not for the few rabble rousers that make noise and hate everybody other than themselves
When is Election Day?
Election day is June 6th!
If you are not machshiv the roshei yeshiva you should move to Jackson?!?!? You make it like the people in Jackson are not associated with the Roshei Yeshiva. This is wrong! We are just as part of the Yeshiva as every one within the Lakewood border just because we are outside the Lakewood border doesn’t make us any less part of the Yeshiva.
