A tracking device installed in a Lakewood resident’s vehicle proved worthwhile after his vehicle was stolen as he was loading groceries into it.
The victim tells TLS he was loading groceries into his vehicle at a Jackson supermarket on Thursday night when he turned his back for a moment. It was those few seconds that a thief jumped into the car and drove off.
But with a tracking device installed in his vehicle for a couple hundred dollars at CSO Radio, the victim said he wasn’t too worried.
He immediately phoned the Jackson Police, while he tracked his vehicle.
The victim says police arrived about 10 minutes later, and provided them with an exact location of the vehicle.
It turns out the suspect apparently noticed the two-way dashcam in the windshield, and decided to dump the car when he realized he was probably being watched.
The vehicle was located behind a mall, and locked, approximately a half mile away

Wow!! This is the coolest thing ever!!
That is a great story. This is a reminder to NEVER put your kid in the car while you are loading groceries…
why do people put their keys in while loading groceries?? another reason to get a remote starter if you want to warm the car
