Lakewood resident finds gun in bag in his backyard (PHOTOS)

Authorities are investigating after a Lakewood resident found a gun in his backyard.

The resident says he found a bag behind his shed, and upon opening it discovered the weapon. He immediately phoned police.

  1. When will people realize that a gun is a tool, in the sense that it’s as “good” or “bad” as the hand that wields it?

    One terrorist with a heavy truck can do more harm to a large crowd of people than someone with a semiautomatic handgun (whose capacity is probably 9 + 1 [9 rounds in the magazine, 1 in the barrel]. I always worry about the large crowds that turn out at some levayas, and even though we, as a community are very security conscious, it always pays to be aware of ones’ surroundings, paying special attention to anything out of place.

  2. This is definitely a pretty old war “souvenir” manufactured in a foreign country somewhere, likely a crude eastern European country. I doubt that it would work at all.
