Lakewood Resident Files White House Petition Demanding Investigation Into ‘IRS Misconduct’

A Lakewood resident today tells TLS he filed a petition with the White House demanding answers to the recent alleged IRS scandal which hit the Federal Government.

The petition, which requires 100,000 signatures for an answer, attached the following statement:

“The IRS has acted with Gross misconduct in targeting certain organizations seeking tax exempt status for unusual and heavy scrutiny. Those responsible for abusing their positions must be held accountable.

The cover up is always worse than the crime. All those in the government and White House administration who covered up this scandal and buried it before the 2012 presidential elections did the American people a grievous injury and deserve criminal prosecution or at the very least should be removed from their post. That includes any IRS officials, White House staff and if need be, the President. Shame on you IRS, you have further sullied the already heavily tarnished name of our Federal Government. We demand answers!”

  1. Will this IRS scandal in the White House slow down the implementation of ObamaCare? There is some connection between ObamaCare and the IRS, but I don’t remember what it is.

  2. It will accomplish the same thing as every small protest of 15-20 people parading outside their congressman office. Public action, however small indicates broader but more apathetic support, for every person that takes the time to protest, there are 100 more who feel the same way but are to lazy to protest. Government knows this and that’s why a public petition that gains thousands of signatures IS effective because it lights the fire under officials who know that those 20,000 or 30,000 signatures are reflective of millions more who feel the same way.

  3. By signing this petition you are basically telling the IRS to come after you the same way they went after the Tea Party, and conservative organizations.

  4. YUP: Call me idealist but I’ll still sign and take my chances that the U.S. hasn’t completely degenerated into a Communist state.

(Also, I don’t have enough money for the IRS to find anything.)

  5. We don’t need the White House to investigate itself – it’ll just be a whitewash. We need the White House to cooperate with Congress’ investigation.

How about a petition for the White House to actually respond to the Congressional Republicans (and some Democrats) who are demanding answers.

  6. Number 4 and 7:
Unfortunately we have a lot of experience with these silly petitions. So keep signing and we’ll learn one more time that it gets you no where.
