Lakewood Public Schools Open For Students [VIDEO]

Lakewood’s Elementary Schools and High School opened this morning for in-person instruction, the first time students have been able to physically attend class since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

More than 4,000 public school students flocked to their respective buildings and classrooms this morning, with all adhering to strict social distancing and other safety precautions that have been implemented by School District officials.

Another 1,300 students who attend Lakewood’s Middle School are scheduled to begin classes on Tuesday once construction on modular classrooms being built at the Middle School concludes over the weekend.

According to District officials, just five staff members, including teachers, did not show up for classes today, despite the teachers union continuing to argue against the reopening plan.
