Lakewood Police Weekly Blotter

DRUGS: February 1, 2024, at 6 p.m., Officers Erik Micallef and D/Sgt. Tyler Distefano from the Street Crimes Unit was in the Madison Avenue area when they noticed a vehicle parked at a well-known establishment associated with drug dealing, gang activity, and weapon offenses. Upon further surveillance, the officers identified one of the individuals in the vehicle as a frequent offender in drug-related activities. The driver left the immediate area and a motor vehicle stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Malik Black, 26, from New Egypt, N.J. The investigation further revealed Malik to have drugs and was charged with related offenses.

Officers Gary Weaver, Joseph Mandelbaum, K9 Officer Joseph Dellavella, and k9 SHIM assisted in the investigation.

WANTED:

February 2, 2024, at 3 p.m., Officers Matthew McAvoy and Derek McAvoy were patrolling in the area of Main Street and observed Amber Garcia, 35, from Lakewood, N.J. from previous encounters. Dispatch confirmed an active warrant and Garcia was subsequently arrested.

Officers Lorenzo Camacho and Sarah Brooks assisted in the investigation.

DRUGS:

February 2, 2024, at 10:30 p.m., Officer Gregory Cannon was patrolling in the area of Ocean Avenue and observed a vehicle in the roadway with a motor vehicle violation and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Luis Alberto-Corona-Ledo, 28, from Lakewood, N.J. was arrested for DWI and charged with related offenses.

Officers Brian Guzman, Nicholas Cusanelli, and Michael Sheehan assisted in the investigation.

DWI:

February 2, 2024, at 11:00 p.m., Officer Bryan Vega was patrolling in the area of Madison Avenue and observed a careless driver. Armando Salas-Castro, 38, from Jackson, N.J. was arrested for DWI and charged with related offenses.

Officers Richard Uriarte and Nicholas Cusanelli assisted in the investigation.
