During a joint ‘Move Over Law’ detail over the holiday weekend, Lakewood police officers conducted dozens of traffic stops along Route 70 – the focus of the detail.

Over the three-day detail, 76 vehicles were stopped, Captain Steve Allaire says.

The detail was in response to a Manchester incident where a motorist struck multiple police officers when he slammed into a vehicle during a traffic stop.

The motorists stopped in this detail were given warnings and handed pamphlets explaining the ‘Move Over Law’.
