Lakewood Police SCU Arrest Toms River Woman on Warrant, Drug Charges

A Toms River woman was arrested by the Lakewood Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit following an investigation conducted within the township, authorities told TLS.

According to police, officers observed the woman briefly enter and exit a location during the course of the investigation. Further inquiry identified her as Desiree Worthy, 55, of Toms River, and revealed she had an active $1,000 outstanding warrant issued by Atlantic City.

Ms. Worthy was taken into custody, and a search incident to arrest led officers to locate a quantity of suspected heroin along with related drug paraphernalia. She was subsequently charged and issued summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Atlantic City authorities later released Ms. Worthy on her own recognizance in connection with the outstanding warrant.
