Lakewood Police Officers Use Narcan to Revive Drug Overdose Victim

narcan sprayA man who allegedly overdosed on drugs was revived this evening ‎by police officers, police told TLS.

Shortly before 7 PM, police responded to a home on Kennedy Boulevard, where they found a semi-conscious 29-year-old man who had reportedly overdosed on heroin, officials say.

Police immediate grabbed their Narcan kits and administered the nasal spray, and the man regained consciousness, officials say.

EMS responded for further treatment.

Police could not immediately comment on the patient’s condition.

  1. Narcan isn’t free. Will the “patient”, who took the drugs of his own free will, be required to pay for it? Are we encouraging an increase in the number of “victims” of drug abuse because they know they can rely on Narcan?

  2. #3 You are a Hate Filled Person. It’s safe to assume, and statistics prove, that you have a Drug Addict either within your family or within your friends and neighbors. BTW Narcon is furnished to Police Depts throughout the nation by Grants from the Federal and State Governments. The money is furnished to them by Asset Forfeiture or Cash Siezed in Drug Crimes.
