Lakewood Police Department Hires 2 New Class ll Officers

andrew keithTwo new Special (Class ll) police officers have been hired today by the Lakewood Police Department, Police Chief Rob Lawson confirms to TLS.

The new officers are Andrew Meyer, son of Captain Greg Meyer, and Keith French, both of whom graduated the 2013 SLEO Class of 32.

After graduating in May, the officers joined the Shore towns as Summer interns due to the heavier Summer population at the Shore.

Now in Lakewood, the officers are mainly placed as Court Officers, to free up officers for the roads. Other times, the officers are driving around with full-time officers, or serve on special details.

Police Chief Rob Lawson says the officers today began in-house training, and are expected to begin working in about two weeks. [TLS]
