Schools in Lakewood will be seeing extra patrols today in response to the massacre that occurred at a Texas elementary school yesterday, police tell TLS.

The mass shooting at the Uvalde elementary school in Texas left 21 people dead, including 18 children.

“In light of the tragic and senseless shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, there will be heightened law enforcement presence at all schools throughout the Township of Lakewood today,” Police said.

“Chief Gregory Meyer, along with our other local, county and state counterparts are dedicated to protecting the safety of our children, teachers and the administrators of our public and private schools. We ask that you keep those affected by this senseless act of violence in your thoughts and prayers and encourage you to report any suspicious activity. We will remain vigilant against any threat to our schools.”

  1. love this response! yes We protour president with GUNS! We protect our politicians with GUNS. We protect what’s precious to us like riches jewlery, banks… with GUNS. Let’s protect our precious children with good ppl with GUNS!!!! REMEMBER-A criminal who’s looking for blood doesn’t care for laws!!!

  2. We have some fantastic Active Shooter Defense technology as well that uses Artificial Intelligence to detect guns, send to a monitoring station instantly for verification and then go directly to topline dispatch for first responders. It also notifies all relevant parties and they stay on with first responders while tracking the individual. It can also trigger magnetic locks to keep people in or out as needed and is a very robust solution. Security funding can be used for it. They also have bullet proof laminate options where needed. I tried sending this to a few schools and such locally here when there was an extreme sale on the solution last summer… but it is tough to get a decision maker’s attention. If anyone is interested, fell free to reach out. It is useful for shuls, businesses and retail locations as well.
