Lakewood Police Chief Addresses Security Concerns Regarding Potential Threats

Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer today provided TLS the following letter he penned today to the Lakewood Community in response to potential threats.

I am writing to address a matter of utmost importance regarding recent threats that have come to our attention. It has come to our knowledge that there are circulating threats targeting Jewish Communities. I want to assure you that we are taking these threats very seriously, and every measure is being taken to ensure the safety and security of our residents.

In light of these circumstances, the Lakewood Police Department, in collaboration with local and state law enforcement agencies, has been working diligently to investigate and mitigate the potential risks posed by these threats. Our dedicated officers, along with the support of our partners, are actively monitoring the situation and will respond swiftly to any potential security concerns.

The safety and well-being of our community members are our top priorities. We understand the apprehension and concern these threats may cause, and we want to reassure you that we are doing everything in our power to safeguard your lives and property. Enhanced security measures have been put in place, including increased patrols, enhanced surveillance, and close coordination with our law enforcement partners.

Please be assured that we are committed to providing regular updates as new information becomes available. We understand the importance of open communication during times like these, and we will continue to keep you informed through our official channels, including our website and social media platforms.

Remember, we are stronger when we stand together as a community, supporting and looking out for one another. Let us not allow fear to divide us but instead unite in the face of adversity. We have full confidence in the capacity of our law enforcement agencies and their unwavering commitment to ensuring your safety.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support. Together, we will overcome these challenges and continue to thrive as a strong and resilient Lakewood community.

Sincerely,

  1. What our police chief should do is allow actual use of the second amendment, that would have a better chance of keeping us safe, we should be able to carry without a permit and have regular capacity magazine
