The Lakewood Police Department has made an arrest in connection to recent thefts involving electric bikes throughout town.
Yesterday afternoon, Detectives from the Lakewood Police Department developed information that led them to the identification of 24 year old Jeremiah Fernandez of Toms River. Further investigation led to the recovery of several electric bikes, segways and scooters, all believed to be stolen over the last few weeks.
As a result, Fernandez was charged with two counts of theft and additional charges are expected in the near future. If you are the victim of a recent theft in Lakewood involving any of theses devices, please contact the Lakewood Police Department to file a report.
Many thanks to the LCSW for all their hard work over the past few weeks to bring an end to this string of thefts. A tip from a few weeks ago that they chased assisted in this arrest. These ebikes and scooters were stolen from front porches, driveways, on personal property in the afternoon and in the early evening hours. Pretty brazen theft!
There was a fellow, somewhere, who was facing a prison sentence for stealing scooters, but he ended up skating on a technicality.
Mug shot please. He was already released. Our neighborhood was hit hard by him and we would like to know if he comes back.
So upsetting my son borrowed his friends e bike and it got stolen. I hope they found his bike because the bike was not cheap at all 1500 plus oyish … And everyone else’s as well
LCSW got the plate and gave it to the police that;s how they found him
