On Monday, November 22, 2010, members of the Lakewood P.B.A. Local 71 will serve soup and distribute winter coats to less fortunate members of the community. The event, to be held in Red Square, located adjacent to the Lakewood Municipal Building, will begin at noon. P.B.A. President Gary Przewoznik said, “Our goal is to show these individuals that we do care about them and want to help. This is one way we can ensure they eat a decent meal and hopefully get a winter coat in the process.”
Members of the Lakewood Police Department will again be donating their own time for this event. The public has donated over 250 winter coats to the P.B.A., St. Mary’s Church will also be on hand giving out hot chocolate and donuts.
“This event would not be possible without the community’s help, which includes the Woodlake Country Club and their Executive Chef Jerry Mahecha and his staff for providing and preparing some ingredients,” added Officer Przewoznik. “We are also fortunate to have Officer Ken Burdge, a former executive chief, step forward to make the soup.” We would also like to thank Moe Heineman Vice President of BP Graphics and Officer Bill Butterworth for making our banners and signs for our events.

Wow, the Lakewood PBA are helping the community again!!! Painting grafitti, serving pasta to seniors and now feeding the homeless. These Officers continue to give back to the people of Lakewood….Great job, keep up the great work! We applaud you all!!!!!!!
