PHOTOS: Mayor Miller and other Lakewood officials were among dozens of NJ law enforcement agencies who gathered today in Newark’s FBI Headquarters to discuss Summer issues and plans ahead of the 2012 Summer season.
The meeting is intended to continue the dialog between community leaders and law enforcement so that they may continue to work together in a pro-active manner to discuss any issues that may arise during the season, when tens of thousands from NY and NJ travel up to the Catskills.
“Bringing together law enforcement and members of various communities is vital to mitigating situations that may be remedied through continual communication between everyone involved”, an official says. “This meeting will provide the venue and opportunity for open communication and allow law enforcement leaders and community leaders to become familiar with each other prior to an incident. The meeting will allow these two vital groups to be reacquainted, interact, and discuss vital issues pertinent to all sides in advance of the hectic and busy summer season during which issues arise annually.” TLS.
