Lakewood mother’s Helmet initiative is back for a second year

Reader-submitted: Dear readers of TLS, Last year we ran a raffle to give kids an extra incentive to wear their helmets. We gave out dozens of bike accessories as well as a grand raffle prize of $500 toward a new bike to a very lucky girl. We received an amazing response in a short period of time.

This year we are back with a bigger and better raffle. We have three age groups to triple your child’s chances of winning.

Please fill out the form and send it in to be added.

The first weekly raffle starts this Sunday.

Together, we can help keep the kids of Lakewood safe and avoid preventable injury. As we Daven for a safe and enjoyable summer, let’s do our Hishtadlus. A simple, properly fitted helmet is something that is proven to prevent injury or even C”V death.

Thank you,

Helmet Heroes

  1. Shimmy, if there are three age groups, and each age group gets their own raffle, and each raffle has it’s own prize, then there are three prizes. If I understand correctly, three prizes instead of one prize means that the chances of winning were tripled. (If the age groups were broken down so that each group will have the exact same number of kids, everyone’s chances were tripled. If not, the kids in a group that has more than a third of all of the kids did not have their chances tripled, but the kids in a group which has less than a third of all of the kids had their chances go up more than three times. It pretty much evens out.)
