Question:

Dear mayor,

thank you for all you do for our town.

I live on hillside blvd, the traffic on this street keeps increasing the cars are constantly going fast trying to catch the light by new egypt road. It is very difficult to cross the street especially with children or the elderly trying to get to westgate plaza. Would it possible to put a traffic light there. I would appreciate if you could please look into this matter for us.

Question:

Hi Mayor Ray,

We really appreciate everything you do for our town. The newly repaved street and sidewalks on East 4th Street look great, and we’ve been enjoying the improvements.

I did want to ask if the sidewalks were sealed properly, as they seem to have become quite stained from the fallen leaves this fall. Despite several rains, the stains haven’t washed away. I’ve attached some pictures for reference.

Good afternoon

I’m glad the work is done and that the sidewalks are making a positive improvement.

I spoke with our engineers about this. It’s not about sealing the concrete but timing. The leaves fell and were wet and stuck to the sidewalk. Foot traffic caused them to stain. It has happened in other areas. This is more noticeable there, since the sidewalks are new and clean. I’m told the stains will fade in time with sunshine and rain. It does look a bit like my drive way when the grandkids finish with chalk and such.
