Question:
Dear Mayor,
As a resident of our wonderful township and a parent, I am reaching out to inquire about the closure of boating activities on Lake Carasaljo.
Over the years, boating on Lake Carasaljo has become a cherished and reasonably priced summer activity for my family. It has been our go-to destination for spending quality time together during this season. However, I have noticed that the boating facilities are currently closed, and this has left many families, like ours, searching for local and fun alternatives to enjoy with our children.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide some insight into the reasons behind the closure and whether there is any possibility of reopening this enjoyable summer venue.
Best regards,
Response from Mayor Coles:
I was also very disappointed we were not able to get the boat concession back this summer., The main reason is that the docks they used became unsafe and could not be used. We are in the process of rehabilitating the area and hope to have the boats and more recreational activities back for next season
Thanks for writing
Ray

I remember when we had to stay away from the lake during the day due to the mixed swimming there.
Thank you Mr. Mayor!
Can’t wait to have the summer fun back right here in town!
Thak you Mr. Mayor!
We can’t wait to have the summer fun right here in town again on our very own lake!
YAY. Thank you The Lakewood scoop and the mayor. am so excited for it to reopen, my family was so disappointed when we heard that is will be close for the summer season.
Glad to hear it’s notnclosed permanently. There’s nothing more Lakewood than boating on lake Carasaljo
what does a private boat company have to do with the township?
Dear Mayor Coles,
I’m sure some of our Lakewood Police officers are quite handy. Perhaps for a few weeks they can be pulled off crosswalk & distracted driving duty to replace the docks with new safe ones.
This will also help people feel safe at the lake when they see all the armed uniformed officers there during the day.
Thank you for being the best Mayor ever.

p.s. one last request. Please don’t have any of the work done on the Jewish Sabbath. Many Jews in Lakewood are very religious & it would bother a great many of us to use a dock built on the Sabbath.
Thanks mayor for addressing that been kinda disappointed seeing they were closed this year, excited to go boating again!
