Question:
Hi,
I just wanted to know when Vine street will finally be opening up. It’s been paved for months already…
Thanks.
Response from Mayor Coles:
I believe we are waiting for the final state permit to allow us to reconstruct the road between Rt 70 & the new road to make it a 2 way street. The state will not allow us to open a 2 way street onto a 1 way exit.

Vermont or vine?
Um… The State approval is required for Vermont. This question is regarding Vine.
Either way, I think the actual answer is that the County does not want the road paved until they complete installation of a traffic signal at Cedar Bridge & Vine. They have begun some underground utility work, but they still have a lot of work to do before the road can be widened and the traffic signal can be installed.
The question was about vine st not Vermont. Also on Vermont let them at least open it as a one way
Regarding Vermont; why not at least open it one way for the time being?
Maybe they realized that something needs to be done to alleviate the traffic on Cedarbridge before adding more traffic… It’s already a harrowing experience getting to & from work.
Speaking of Vermont,
What about the section between Essex and Oak?
Every time I pass by I cringe at the thought of more cars making dangerous left turns onto Cedarbridge…
They are installing a light at that intersection….
