The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Hi thank you for your time and dedication to Lakewood. There is one street I have been asking and asking for over a year now for a left turn arrow coming from pine to River Ave.
We need it because people are driving from the other way and people making lefts and it’s a must, please have them install one asap.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good afternoon
The entire intersection is being realigned with new lights and turn lanes. It is part of the Rt 9 project currently underway. Unfortunately this is the tail end of the project which should be done in 2025.
Question:
Greetings Mayor Coles,
I recently took my children for a walk/bike ride around Lake Shenandoah last week. I was struck by how beautiful it is – a real gem right here in Lakewood! I wanted to point out that the paved path around the lake is in significant disrepair. There are lots of patches where it is broken up into pieces or completely worn out. Are there any plans to repave this pathway? I believe if that were done, many more people would make use of this great public space in our town.
Thanks in advance for your response on this.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Hi David,
We are in the process of repairing and expanding the path around the entire lake.
I agree with you about how special it is and how fortunate we are to have such a wonderful natural resource in town.
I’m happy to know you are enjoying it
Stay safe
Ray
