The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].
Question:
Hi Mayor,
I live on a street called Kew Gardens Drive, which is right off the intersection of Twin Oaks & County Line Rd.
My question is to you Mr. Mayor is that why can’t there be turning on red from Twin Oaks to County Line Rd (with an arrow indicating the right turn) while the left lanes of County Line are turning left?
I got this idea from the intersection of Rt 9 & Kennedy Blvd. Where the right lane going west is able to turn right on red with an arrow while Rt 9 south is still on green.
Thank you in advance,
Chaim
Response from Mayor Coles:
Hello Chaim,
I will forward your request on to Ocean County, who has final say on this.
Thanks

I have another turning lane question. Why was the left turning lane from james to sunset removed? Yes, they get a green arrow first but after that if a car is trying to turn left, they hold up all the traffic going straight on James.
Yes, turning lanes (both left and rights) and rights on red increased around town. Any and all safe methods to improve traffic flow through this town/city.
