Question:
Hi Mr. Mayor
Thank you so much for all that you do for the community and for this forum, Where the residents of Lakewood can Voice their concerns and questions. Is it possible to look into Central Avenue/Lakewood new Egypt Road regarding the left turn signal. It seems that there is no sensor at the light to see if cars are actually turning and the green left arrow Always turns on for a long time. If there’s anyway that this could be looked into, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Again
Response from Mayor Coles:
Sorry for the delay in responding. Just received this from the county
The detection for the left turns is being added, should be completed within the next 2 weeks. The signal will still cycle though since we do not have push buttons and need the signal to change to allow pedestrians to cross.

It’s not clear what intersection you’re referring to. I think you meant the Gunz/ New Egypt intersection
can anyone get through to the officials to add a right turning arrow at the corner of rt 9 and central, coming from BMG, as cars coming down central turn left, why must we just wait , why cant we have a right green turning light the same time?? moishe kapaya mamish!!!!
I wrote the Mayor the same suggestion for the right turning arrow when the cars turning left from Central to Rt 9 north have their left turn arrow, but I never heard back from anyone.
