Question:
Hello Mr. Mayor,
I hope you are well! I wanted to know if it was possible to put a green arrow on the traffic light on Vermont and route 70 in Lakewood. I recently moved into the amber grove apartments and travel to work everyday at the eagle ridge golf course. During my short, everyday commute, I dread that left turn the most as there is no arrow for left turns. A few weeks ago, I also witnessed a car accident right in front of me on Vermont and 70 due to no green arrow. It is a quite unsafe in my opinion and if this would be possible, that would be extremely appreciated by many of us. Thank you for all that you do and it’s a pleasure residing in Lakewood, NJ!
Thank you for your time.
Response from Mayor Coles:
Good morning,
I will ask the township engineer to work with the county and state to request an arrow at that intersection.
Thanks
Ray

It should be mandatory to put up a turning light by any major intersection
It’s seems like a game of cat and mouse so many road and traffic issues can be fixed relatively quickly and easily. It seems that the WILL of the people in office are lacking
Dear Mr. Mayor,
While we’re on the subject of turning lights, I was wondering whether Lakewood Township would be kind enough to install a turning light on my stomach.
My stomach has been turning ever since I started frequenting the new restaurant across the street from me, the one that serves all that hot and spicy food.
My friends are often unaware that my stomach is turning, and they are not cognizant of the pain and discomfort that I feel throughout the day. A turning light would allow my friends to be informed of when my stomach is turning, and when it isn’t turning, so that I wouldn’t have to use hand signals and verbal warnings to inform them of my discomfort – like puting my hands on my stomach and saying, “Oy, please, I can’t talk with you right now, my stomach is turning!”
If Lakewood Township is unable to install a turning light on my stomach, can you at least close down the restaurant that serves all of that hot and spicy food until I can find an antacid that will protect my stomach from the fiery food?
Mr. Mayor, I’ll stay logged on to the website for a while, and wait for your reply. Thanks.
Not to mention someone was killed there a couple months ago trying to cross the street.
