Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles responds to your ‘Ask The Mayor’ questions: Tracks

The following is an ‘Ask The Mayor’ question submitted to TLS, and the Mayor’s response. Email your questions for the Mayor to [email protected].

Question:

A lot of the town uses the tracks as a shortcut for walking on shabbos, there’s plenty of land on the side, can the town invest in a real walking path alongside the tracks and cleanup all the debris?

Response from Mayor Coles:

I have our engineer looking into who owns this property. I believe it belongs to the railroad and we would require their permission to construct any sort of walkway. I am currently setting up a meeting with Conrail to discuss several other issues in town and i will ask them to clean up the debris in their right of way.

Thanks

Ray
